Join us on a walking tour to learn about Columbia’s historic movie theaters and explore some of the stories of changes in our culture starting in 1897 reflected in movie theater architecture. This approximate 1-mile, 2-hour stroll through downtown will provide a historical perspective on movie theaters: A discussion of the what, how, and why that powered the rise and fall of the movie theater industry in Columbia and nationwide.
