Explore your creative side with this series of classes designed to help you express yourself and grow creatively. Experienced instructor and accomplished artist Jenn Wiggs will instruct you on core principles of painting. Beginners are welcome and encouraged!

In this eight-week course sponsored by the Columbia Public Library, students aged 55 and older will learn the fundamentals of working with paint. Through working from observation, technical demonstrations, focused painting projects and hands-on instruction, you'll become familiar with the materials and techniques of painting and develop skills that will enable you to progress to the creation of more advanced work and pursue a creative vision.

Paints and supplies provided. An exhibit of student work is planned for Saturday, May 17, 1-3 p.m. at the Columbia Public Library.

This program is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through a grant from the Missouri State Library. Studio space is generously provided by Orr Street Studios.
