GreenHouse Theatre Project presents:
Winchester
by Elizabeth Braaten Palmieri
May 11-14, 8pm
United Methodist Church (2nd story atrium) 204 S. 9th St. CoMO
Based on the true story of Sarah Winchester, the heiress to the Winchester firearm fortune, this original work tells an unforgettable tale that could only happen in America. Sarah became one of the wealthiest women in the world after the untimely death of her husband in 1881. As fate would have it, the rifle that brought Sarah riches also gave rise to menacing guilt and grief over the lives it took. “Build a house,” a psychic advised her so that she may save her soul and appease the restless dead. Sarah embarked on a 38-year building project, endlessly adding rooms, hidden passages, and stairways to nowhere in a quest to stop the haunting. In this new play by Elizabeth Braaten Palmieri, truth becomes detangled from legend.
