This isn’t your average Cinderella. Mareck Dance, in collaboration with the Odyssey Chamber Music Series, is
bringing a dazzling new take on the
classic fairy tale to life at the Missouri

Theatre on April 18 and 19. With two grand pianos on stage and a bold, contemporary twist, this original production of Prokofiev’s Cinderella transforms glass slippers into pointe shoes, weaving a magical story of love, self-discovery, and independence in the modern world.

“We wanted to give Cinderella a
fresh, modern spin while still honoring
the timeless themes of the original
story,” says Karen Mareck Grundy, executive/artistic director of Mareck Dance. “This production is about embracing who you are, finding your own strength, and celebrating diversity, all while still being enchanted by the magic of the fairy tale.”

In addition to this unique interpretation of Cinderella, the first act will feature two world premieres from the creative minds of artistic director Karen Mareck Grundy and resident choreographer Kristopher Estes-Brown, adding an extra layer of excitement to this special production.
