Filmed for live audiences in 2011, director Danny Boyle’s stage production of Frankenstein reanimates Mary Shelley’s novel themes of scientific responsibility, parental neglect, and the nature of good and evil. Victor Frankenstein (Jonny Lee Miller) creates a creature from human corpses. When the Creature (Benedict Cumberbatch) is cast out by Frankenstein because of his appearance, he finds further cruelty in the outside world. Desperate for vengeance and belonging, the Creature embarks on a dogged pursuit to confront Frankenstein.
