A tale as old as, like, time! Julie (Deborah Foreman), a preppy teen from the Valley, falls for grody Hollywood punk Randy (Nicolas Cage). Equally inspired by iconic Shakespearean romantic couplings and the 1982 Frank Zappa song "Valley Girl," this teen exploitation flick launched the career of Nicolas Cage. With its New Wave soundtrack, rad fashion, and bodacious vernacular, this film made these “star-crossed lovers” into a quintessential 80’s time-capsule.
This screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Makenzie Schroeder & Collen Colaner from the University of Missouri.
